My name is Taylor: lover of fonts, snakes, & coffee.
Over the last decade I've developed a motto to give a focus to my work, as there's more to this than making something pretty: it's a mindset that pushes past intrinsic beauty, and helps a form follow its function.
“Beauty with purpose.”
I unknowingly began my design career around the age of 12 while using the social media platform Xanga. As I learned to design and code my own web page, I began to understand the importance of hierarchy, font choice, style, and ease of use. Eventually, I began to create web page designs for friends and other users.
I went on to college to pursue a degree in Music Composition, but spent the first year teaching myself Adobe After Effects and animation; I created a kinetic typography music video before I ever wrote a single piece of music. I dropped out of the music program after my first year, and began my pursuit of art and design.
Throughout my career I've explored many design mediums: animation, photography, videography, advertising, catalog creation, digital and web, marketing pieces, technical documents, and more.
